Dr. Michael’s Covid-19 update for March 29

Each time we leave our houses, we run the risk of exposing ourselves to the coronavirus. Recent studies have suggested that infections in Ohio will peak during May, which means, we are a long way to the end of this crisis.

My biggest fear is that I become an asymptomatic carrier for the coronavirus and expose my patients to it. We are doing everything we can to prevent this from happening.

If you are immunocompromised, older, or at-risk patient, we will schedule you away from other patients so that only you will be in the office during your appointment time. While my goal is to do this with each patient, we are not able to promise this at this time for evening hours. During evening hours, if there is more than one patient in the office, we would like to keep you in separate rooms.

To assist us in accomplishing this, please call from your car when you arrive in the parking lot.

We are sanitizing according to the CDC guidelines using a bleach dilution, bleach plus soap dilution, and at least a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution. We are sanitizing every room after every patient. Seating, sofa, pillows, and bolsters are now either hard surfaces or vinyl covered for easy cleaning. We are sanitizing bottles, tools (magnets) and surfaces after every patient. We are trying to sanitize the front door after every person, but during delivery times we are unable to guarantee that. Please wash your hands upon entering the practice.

We are also sanitizing the restrooms multiple times during the day. There are still people at Howard Hanna that use the restrooms. You are welcome to take a folded paper towel so that you don’t need to directly touch the door handles in the hall or toilet handle. Please wash your hands again upon reentering the practice space.

While you are in the practice, avoid touching your phone. We have hand sanitizer in most rooms if you do. We also have isopropyl alcohol spray in the kitchen if you would like to sterilize your phone after washing your hands.

If you have a mask, we welcome you to wear one for your visit. Because I am constantly standing over people while I work on them, I have started to wear a mask during the visits. I currently have two, with more coming within two weeks.

We are suspending our 24-hour cancelation policy. If you are feeling well, wait until you need us before coming in.

Many of you have taken advantage of our free shipping on supplement orders. It is taking 1-3 days for most shipments, depending on what time of day your package goes out, and whether you choose priority mail delivery for $2.99 extra. We are currently shipping 6 days a week.

Lydia and I are working hard to create the safest environment for all of us so that we can be here when you need us.
