During the 1990’s, I worked as a massage therapist, body-worker, and naturopath. Frustrated with my lack of understanding and the complexity of the biomechanics of the human body I decided to enter Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. During my first year, I was disappointed in the lack of progress the field as a whole had made in understanding spinal biomechanics.
My search
led me to explore procedures that focused on the upper cervical spine.
After a conversation, a friend of mine handed me a copy of the
introductory NUCCA biomechanics book. I didn’t understand a word of it,
but I realized that there was enough knowledge to investigate further. I
went to
my first NUCCA conference in October 1999.
Introductory BiomechanicsMy first correction was the following January. During the procedure, I began giggling as pain that I wasn’t even aware of left my body. To know intellectually is not the same as feeling it in your body. I was hooked.
As a student, I was instrumental in introducing NUCCA to others who are now practicing it. I also had the opportunity to be a contributor to the textbook NUCCA: Protocols and Perspectives.
After graduation, I was fortunate in being able to spend time learning with my mentor, Dr. Robert Brooks. I am pleased to be back home and I am looking forward to the opportunity to take care of you.
