Evidently there is a plastic liner in metal cans that contains large amounts of Bisphenol A.  Bisphenol A, which comes from plastic, is a chemical that mimics sex hormones. One big culprit is tomatoes, which are acidic and leaches the chemical out more. They also single out plastic containers and plastic wrap and it is important not to heat with them, as well as plastic baby bottles. They also presented evidence that Bisphenol A stimules breast cancer cells. Watch the whole thing, it is only about 5 minutes long. One question that I have is the organic food in cans.  I will assume that it is the same until I can get more information.
