Birth Trauma: my first misalignment.

birth trauma.gifDuring the recent health expo, I met a ob/gyn nurse that said that many times she hears a popping as she pulls a baby’s head out during birth. Horrified, I asked if they could have the woman sitting or squating, and she said no, that most of them have a spinal tap or are drugged. There is only one worse way to give birth than on your back and that is giving birth hanging upside down. You are fighting gravity. If you think that c-sections are any better, this nurse told me that the surgeons don’t want to leave a large scar and pull infants through these tiny holes. This is where many of us had our first misalignment, myself included. Fortunately, there have been great inroads and understanding on natural childbirth.

If you are pregnant, do your research, use a midwife, get a doula. If you are a patient of ours, talk to Jordan. She gave birth to Vita without drugs or surgery, she is trained as a doula, and has assisted with several births.
