Thorne’s CoQ10 and Pure’s Ubiquinol 20% off for July

Ubiquinone (Thorne) and Ubiquinol (Pure Encapsulation) are two forms of CoQ10.

CoQ10 is an essential nutrient and antioxidant needed for the electron transport chain. The electron transport chain and Krebs’ cycle are our body’s biochemical processes to make energy (in the form of the molecule ATP). Ubiquinol and CoQ10 increase energy production (give us more energy) and allow our cells to function better.

CoQ10:

  • Supports cellular energy production, which, in turn, supports the body’s energy level and exercise stamina*
  • Support for a healthy heart – promotes normal heart rhythm and blood vessel function, and helps maintain healthy blood pressure*
  • Promotes healthy aging by enhancing mitochondrial function – essential for cardiovascular, immune, neurological, and ovarian function, as well as optimal skin health*
  • An essential nutrient for mitochondrial function and cellular energy production*
  • Plays a vital role in protecting against oxidative stress by enhancing the activity of the body’s master antioxidant – glutathione*
  • Supports a healthy inflammatory response*

Ubiquinone vs Ubiquinol: Which one to take?

Ubiquinol is the reduced, active form of CoQ10, while ubiquinone is the oxidized form. For the vast majority of my patients, they can easily convert ubiquinone to ubiquinol. For these patients, I recommend Thorne’s CoQ10. The benefit of Thorne’s CoQ10:

  • An optimally absorbed, proprietary, lipid-based, non-crystalline form of coenzyme Q10
  • Nearly three times better absorbed than ubiquinol
  • Enhanced absorption over other forms of Coenzyme Q10, including dry powder, oil, nanoparticle, and liposomal preparations

Thorne’s CoQ10 is also less expensive than Pure’s Ubiquinol.

A fraction of my patients have trouble with the conversion of Ubiquinone. These patients tend to be older with more metabolic issues. These patients do better with the final, usable, ubiquinol form. Another benefit of Pure’s Ubiquinol over Thorne’s CoQ10 is that the pills are smaller in the 50mg variety.

For July Thorne’s CoQ10 and Pure’s Ubiquinol is 20%.
